Stephan Balkenhol, Enrique Marty and Floris Van Look are part of the group exhibition TALKING HEADS at Kasteel d'Ursel, Hingene (BE).
Dozens of centuries-old portraits of the d’Ursel family stand side by side with the work of contemporary artists. From stately dukes to dreamy children, from humble servants to distinguished relatives, from melancholic figures to colorful faces: every portrait bears the traces of the time in which it was created and of the person depicted. Eye to eye, you discover the extraordinary story behind every face.
TALKING HEADS combines and confronts the centuries-old family portraits by Justus van Egmont, Charles-Pierre Verhulst, Philip de László, Joseph Vivien, Alexandre Delatour, Charles Le Clercq, Bernhard Seibert, Alexandre Thomas, Antonine de Mun, the 6th Duchess d’Ursel, many lesser-known and a few anonymous masters with work by more than fifty contemporary artists.
The exhibition will be on view 31 May - 2 November 2026.
