Meet artist Clara Spilliaert during a special artist talk at Gaasbeek Castle, coinciding with her exhibition Soil Mate.
Spilliaert will first provide insight into her journey and artistic practice. She will then zoom in on Soil Mate, the new creation she made specifically for Gaasbeek Castle. In this stop-motion short film, inspired by a picnic in the castle garden, she focuses on the rich life beneath our feet. She will discuss the origins of the work, her sources of inspiration, and the labor-intensive stop-motion process that brought the film to life frame by frame.
A unique opportunity to hear the artist speak for herself and discover more about the ideas, techniques, and stories behind her first solo museum exhibition.
