Lois Weinberger is part of Gleaning, a group exhibition at Kunstverein Grafschaft Bentheim, Neueunhaus (DE), curated by Roger Rohrbach.
Drawing on the historical practice of gleaning—the gathering of crops left behind after the harvest—the exhibition explores forms of collecting as a social, aesthetic and political practice.
“Gleaning” describes far more than simply securing leftover resources. It is a gesture of attentiveness towards what has been overlooked, a practice of preservation and care, and an act of reordering. Through gleaning, value is generated anew: what initially appears as a remnant or waste becomes the starting point for new meanings.
