Still Life with Octopus and Candle
Here, organic accumulation merges with cultural elements. The octopus occupies the centre, its tentacular body enveloping fruits and organic remains. Above it, a candle introduces times as a visible process--wax melting, matter dissolving.
The work resonates with vanitas imagery, where life and death coexist in a single composition. Yet rather than moralizing, it presents transformation as inevitable and continuous.
The sculpture stages matter in transition: a system in which living, consumed and decaying forms are indistinguishable.
