Joëlle Dubois at Museum De Reede, Antwerp (BE)

Joëlle Dubois is part of Danse Macabre, a group exhibition at Museum De Reede, Antwerp (BE).

Death is a constant that has fascinated artists for centuries. From the Middle Ages onwards, this fascination took shape in the motif of the Danse Macabre (Dance of Death), in which death enters the world of the living and confronts them with one universal truth: everything is transient, and no one can escape the end.
With this exhibition, Museum De Reede explores how artists throughout the ages have approached this theme. From historical prints to contemporary interpretations, they continually seek images that reveal how life and death are intertwined.

The exhibition will be on view 30 October 2026 - 11 January 2027.
