Kunsthal Extra City and the Guillaume Bijl Estate present Guillaume Bijl’s first posthumous exhibition, Festive Commemoration of the County of Watou, on Saturday, 24 October, from 2 pm.
Twenty-four years after its original presentation in Watou, Guillaume Bijl’s exceptional project is being reconstructed for the first time in the former Dominican church at Kunsthal Extra City. Museum, banquet hall and theatre come together in a fictional-historical narrative centred on the County of Watou, which will be brought to life once again during the opening through live performances and a festive procession of tableaux vivants.
